Over the past twelve years, Ariel has been on the cutting edge of interactive product development and user experience analysis. She has created software, websites, games, iTV and mobile products for clients such as Yahoo!, AOL, Wells Fargo, Rockwell Collins, Lucas Arts, Disney, @Home, The Annenberg Institute, and more. She served as the Creative Director for Lotus Interworks and PCCW/Now.com, both multi-national corporations focused on serving the expanding needs of a cross-platform international consumer base. In the 90's, Ariel created the front end of some of the first broadband PC and iTV user interfaces while working for DirectTV at ZDTV. As the Director of User Experience at Broadband Mechanics, Ariel helped pioneer early online video and rich-media publishing software.
Julia has been a senior consultant in the technology, media and telecommunication industries, providing strategic, legal and financial advice to her clients, with an emphasis on media ventures. Prior to co-founding mEgo, she was Senior Vice President of Business Development for PCCW, one of Asia's leading integrated communications and new media companies. PCCW is the dominant telecommunications company in Hong Kong. Through its subsidiaries, it is also involved in high tech, real estate and infrastructure projects worldwide. As Senior Vice President, Julia initiated and negotiated content, technology and funding relationships for the "now.com," NOW TV and "gamer.tv" initiatives. Recognizing the importance of media convergence in the early 90's, Julia co-authored Split Screen - Home Entertainment and the New Technologies in 1992 with David Ellis. Julia graduated with honors in economics from Princeton University and received her law degree from the University of Toronto.
Nick has 10 years of Internet experience, including helping to launch MSN while at Microsoft, founding imix.com, an Internet music and video company, and running his own Internet advisory firm. He was also an Equity Analyst at Sanford Bernstein and a consultant at McKinsey. Nick graduated from Harvard Business School and has a Computer Science degree from the University of Waterloo.
Kit has 15 years of experience. He was Director of Business Development for Della.com, which was acquired by WeddingChannel.com; Principal of Evolution Partners, a corporate venture investment firm founded by Texas Pacific Group, Bain Capital, and Kleiner Perkins; and Co-Founder of Finacity, a specialty finance company focused on securitization of trade receivables. Kit also worked at Infant Advantage, a child development company acquired by Parentech and at The Gap. Kit graduated from Princeton University.
Dustin is an Information Architect and Usability Specialist with seven years experience creating user-friendly consumer websites and business web applications. He has worked as a Senior Information Architect for internet consulting companies marchFIRST, divine, and SBI/Razorfish. Most recently, he led the usability department at Hyundai North America. Dustin has successfully completed projects for Mazda, Toyota, Disney, Hyundai, The First American Corporation, Ditech, Allergan, and Amgen, to name a few. Dustin also has 10 years experience in the radio industry, where he worked as a Marketing Director, writer, and disc jockey.
Steve is a Technical Project Manager with seven years of experience in management. After introducing internet marketing to Superior Homes Realty & Investment, he earned Employee of the Year and was named Vice President of the Real Estate division. With his hands-on approach, he has successfully managed hundreds of employees to increase productivity and the bottom-line. Steve is also a real estate broker and has a Communications degree from California State University, Fullerton.
Shastina is a Community Manager with over 14 years in Retail Management and customer service for companies such as Gap, Inc. and Bloomingdales. Shastina chose to move in the direction of the web to become familiar with the tools of communication and to have the opportunity to build professional and sincere customer support for mEgo. Shastina also has a degree in massage from the Body Therapy Institute of Santa Barbara, Ca.
Michael is a seasoned professional with twenty years in the design industry. He has designed and created numerous public websites and enterprise level web-based software applications. Michael comes to us from Silicon Space, a leading Southern California consulting firm where he served as Creative Director. While at Silicon Space, Michael designed and developed various projects for such clients as Hewlett-Packard, Gateway, Disney, Union Bank of California and Adobe Systems. Michael holds a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from San Diego State University.
Jaxon joins mEgo with over 15 years of experience working within the traditional media and new media industries. Jaxon has a proven track record of successful product development and cutting edge ideas for products and execution that lends itself well to our fast paced and creative company. Within the Internet and Telecommunications industries, Jaxon served as the lead Producer of New Media and Live Events for both Disney Online and then for Warner Music Group, managing one of the first exclusively online music feature programs. As the Director of Music for Ampīd Mobile, a youth-oriented mobile content company and MVNO, Jaxon lead the design and build out of a fully digital recording studio while also building the mobile music content portfolio and music product portfolio for the company. In his background, Jaxon spent many years as an audio engineer, specializing in recorded and live sound production with particular interest in the study of psychoacoustics. Jaxon currently resides in Marina Del Rey, California and is an avid snowboarder and mountain biker.
Technology
Kevin is a Director of Rich Media Technical Solutions, who has devised custom interactive solutions using Flex, Flash, AJAX, Javascript, DHTML and XML. Because of his expertise with cutting-edge rich-media technologies, Kevin was engaged as the sole developer for one of the first all-Flex rich-internet applications launched by a Fortune Global 500 company. Additionally, the online car configuration application he designed for Mazda was deemed "best on the web" by Forrester Research. A results-oriented software architect and hands-on programmer with over 10 years experience in software development, Kevin has been the technical lead on multiple large corporate projects. His clients include The Walt Disney Company, Toyota, Mazda, Bank of America and Allergan/AMO.
With nearly a decade of Flash Development experience, Erik is recognized by his peers as an industry leader in AJAX, Flash, and Flex rich internet application (RIA) development. He has contributed to a number of award-winning projects and publications and has been a presenter at prestigious events and seminars. Over the years Erik has led the development of Flash-based enterprise-wide applications, RIA's and games for Fortune 50 and Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries. His clients include Disney, Hewlett-Packard, Gateway, Intel, Qualcomm, Sony, Nintendo, AT&T, Adobe/Macromedia, Ford, Toyota, Y&R, Hilton, Target, Coke and Boost Mobile. Recognizing Erik's deep technical knowledge and expertise, Macromedia, the makers of Flash, hired him as a consultant to help their corporate customers improve their internal processes and development methodologies. Erik's projects have won a number of awards, including the 2006 National Gold ADDY Award, the 2005 and 2006 AD:TECH Award, and the 2005 Web Award for Standard of Excellence. He has authored books and articles for a variety of publishers, including New Riders, No Starch Press, Peachpit Press, Sys-con Media, Macromedia.com, and ActionScript.com.
Darío is a Software Engineer based in Uruguay. For the past six years he has been developing LAMP-based sites for major Uruguayan companies, such as Uniotel SA and the national telco Anteldata. A graduate of Uruguay's prestigious Universidad de la República, Darío has experience in Linux administration, as well as a variety of other technologies, including Freeradius server, PHP, MySQL, Javascript, AJAX & HTML/CSS.
A recent graduate in Automation and Applied Informatics from Romania's University of Politehnica, Timisoara, Adrian has expertise in PHP, MySQL, AJAX, HTML/CSS, XML, as well as experience in Linux server and Java. In addition to working as a developer at Romania's highly regarded FV Agency-a full-service interactive company providing innovative solutions for web, mobile and desktop applications-he has done freelance work for a variety of sites. Prior to starting with mEgo, Adrian was a consultant for IT Acquisition Center, where he helped develop IT systems, strategies and management policies.
Marcelo has a bachelor degree in Graphic Design from ORT University, Uruguay. Since his beginnings in 2003, he has stood out as a versatile designer and developer. Expert in HTML/CSS, he also teaches in prominent local academies, where he displays his natural leadership ability. His favorite web tools are Photoshop, Dreamweaver; and multimedia components Director and Premier.
Since 1997, Diego has been responsible for creating more than 100 sites working for companies based in Argentina, Spain, Mexico, Australia, UK, and the United States. He is a specialist in multimedia applications and web programming, but his forte is design. Using a wide range of software tools from Adobe (Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, After Effects) and 3ds Max, Diego is very experienced, modern, creative, and he produces projects of a high visual quality.
Gerardo is an experienced LAMP developer located in Argentina. Working in his early years as a Web Designer and Internet Programmer, he rapidly began to seek new challenges and goals, finding himself working for worldwide companies. Gerardo has many skills such as Web Design, HTML/CSS, Flash and client/server side scripting languages.
Carolina has been part of Internet based companies in Uruguay - her country of residence, for the past 3 years, working in several local start-ups collaborating in their diagramming, user experience, features and Q.A., Carolina has also achieved valuable experience un Client support in non internet based local companies, shaping a very versatile and flexible profile.
Fernando is currently finishing his career as of Software Engineer in Universidad de la República, Uruguay. His past experience in webdeveloping includes technologies such as PHP, MySQL, Javascript, Ajax, HTML/CSS under Linux platforms. Before joining mEgo, Fernando provided his services as a consultant for Proyectos Engineering & Consultancy. He developed and maintained different enterprise information systems for industry automated processes based on SQL Server and .NET. While consulting, he worked for INCA-ICI (the local agent of Imperial Chemical Industries in Uruguay).
Diogo graduated with a degree in Communications Design from Advanced School of Technology and Management in Portugal.
He has works as a designer for digital marketing Company, 'Six & Co' (FullSix? Group) and does freelance Graphic Design, Illustration, Motion and Web Design projects. He is also a co-founder of Portuguese design collective, 'Ruadesign.net', whose goal is to optimize and promote Portuguese Design.
Octavian has 10 years of experience with Linux OS and has been system administrator for many companies; both as employee and as consultant. He is currently a student of Applied Electronics at Romania's University of Politehnica, Timisoara. Octavian also has over 3 years of PHP programming experience working freelance before joining the mEgo team, and has also worked as technical support for a top Romanian ISP.
Pablo is a networking technician with 7 years experience providing logistics and quality assurance services to companies in Uruguay and the United States. Pablo specializes in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and traffic management for Spanish language web sites. He is currently working on his bachelor of science degree in Computer Systems at ORT University in Uruguay.
Michelle is a QA consultant, with a diverse, 15 year background in administration, marketing and auditing. She served as Operations Manager and Marketing Manager, for Show Industries, Inc., before moving on to work for Costco Wholesale as a Supervisor, and Auditor. At Costco, she developed successful project plans and implemented work flow strategies to increase production and accuracy, in the marketing and administration departments in which she served.
Carolina has worked for a large Internet based company in Uruguay- her country of residence, for the past 4 years. She provides expertise in the Internet field, with experience in the development and implementation of tasks in web content, hosting, administration, management programs, and quality control of various sites hosted.
Max is a Jr Flash developer with mEgo since April of '08. Before mEgo, Max worked for Flextronics, an Electronics Manufacturing Services provider where he was a Technical Trainer.
Alan Received a Bachelors degree in computer science from Southern California Institute of Technology. Fresh out of college, he was hired as a Jr. UI Developer for the First American Corporation. He was mainly responsible for keeping their demo site up to date, through HTML, CSS, and Javascript changes, creating Visio wireframes, and creating new dynamic pages as needed by the company. He is now a proud member of the mEgo team, where he continues on as an intern Flash developer and experienced QA tester.
When not wandering the planet playing ukulele, Kenny Cosca can be found behind a cheap laptop clicking away with his old-school ball mouse. Kenny also has Bachelors Degree in Music from California State University, Chico, and has performed around the globe playing bass and singing for a multitude of bands. In fact playing gigs at night gave Kenny the time to teach himself programming during the day. Kenny now has 6 years experience programming for the web with PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, XML, Etc. His current focus here at mEgo is Flash and Actionscript 2.0/3.0.
With strong abilities in both design and development, Justin Bernard is a rare hybrid who brings creativity and efficiency to his projects. He has a diverse background in art, design and architecture, as well as a passion for action sports and the outdoors. His skills have led him to work with clients including BMW, Boston Beer Company/Sam Adams, Boost Mobile, Coca-Cola, Ezekiel, Fuse TV, General Mills, Hardee's, Hewlett Packard, Kawasaki, Lucas Arts/ Star Wars, SEGA, Target, Volkswagon and Walmart. Justin's talent has been recognized in the form of numerous awards, most recently the 2008 Webby People's Voice Winner, an award for which his work has been nominated several times. Also, projects he has been a part of have received Communication Arts Site of the Week awards, the 2005 London International Award, several Macromedia Site of the Day awards, FWA Site of the Day and Site of the Month awards and numerous Orange County Ad Club Gold Awards. Justin's work has appeared in multiple magazine/article features including the New York Times, Time Magazine.com, HOW Magazine Design Annuals and Communication Arts.
Sergio is a Software Engenier graduate of Uruguay's Universidad de la República since 2002. For the past 10 years he has gained experience in a wide range of technologies, solutions and professional roles. Experience includes coding and designing solutions in almost all common programming languages, OS environments and database servers. He evolved as a developer, architect, and project manager inside a couple of local software companies, became an international consultant at the Interamerican Development Bank for two years, and most recently managed a self owned small internet company focused on the creation of online gaming communities, dealing with technical, commercial and human resources management.
Fotios has been a Technical Lead in the wireless industry for many years, developing mobile games, ringtone applications and reliable mobile software platforms for various clients, including THQ, Disney, Moderati, CMT, and VH1 among others. He has a wide variety of technical knowledge spanning from wireless technologies like J2ME, BREW, Symbian, CDMA/GSM protocols to server-side architectures like J2EE and XML. Fotios is the co-founder of Stream Engineering and RTOT, two Cyprus-based companies, focused on data mining algorithms applied to electronic markets. He graduated from UCLA with three master's degrees in Computer Science, Space Physics and Chemical Engineering. He is also the recipient of numerous academic awards and fellowships, among them an M.S Outstanding Award in Computer Science and the Best Graduate Student Fellowship in Chemical Engineering.
Injae is a graphic designer and an animator. Over 10 years of experience, he has been working as a graphic designer and User Interface designer (information architecture designer) for mobile applications and games for clients such as Disney Channel, Verizon Animated Messaging!, Voce, NBA, Lost, Desperate Housewives, Sports Illustrated, Rachael Ray's Recipes on the Run, Consumer Report, Bump and more. He was a concept designer and lead artist creating designs for characters, logos, intro movie , interface, 3D characters modeling, characters animation for PC Games, PC Online Games, X-Box Games, PDA Games and Flash games . Injae is creating designs for the web page, poster, banners, CD cover and book as well.
