Feeds

mEgo makes it easy to display lots of custom content that you've saved, created or located anywhere on the web. You can manage all 3rd-party content and your choice of personal RSS from the Feeds page. The icon to the left of each field indicates the pod in which the feed appears on your mEgo. You can also enter or modify the same feed info by editing the relevant pod via the Content page.

After you enter feed details, as described below, click save to see the feed on your mEgo. The pod will open automatically. In some cases, you will be able to switch between available custom feeds by choosing from a drop-down box at the top of the subpod.

YouTube

The videos that appear in your mEgo by default are from an actual YouTube feed, which updates automatically when new videos are added to YouTube. To play your own YouTube videos - or anyone else's that you have rights to, simply enter the desired YouTube username (the name used to log in to YouTube). Alternately, you can enter tag/keywords to search for.

To get your own free account, click on the YouTube logo that appears next to the fill-in field.

Flickr

The photos that appear in your mEgo by default are from an actual Flickr feed, which updates automatically when new pictures are added to Yahoo's Flickr service. Display your own Flickr photos-or any public pics-by entering a valid Flickr screen name and/or tag(s). Remember to Save your changes.

Tips :

1. Separate multiple tags with commas. For instance, to view all photos that are tagged either dog or cat, type dog, cat in the tag(s) field. If you type dog cat, you will only display pics that are tagged with both dog and cat.

2. The screen name is the "signed in as" name that appears in the upper right corner of Flickr after you have logged in using your Yahoo ID and password; it is managed on the Your Account page. This is the same info you use for doing a Member (aka People) search in Flickr.

To get your own free account, click on the Flickr logo that appears next to the fill-in field.

Amazon Wish Lists

On Amazon.com, you can create a Wish List to keep track of items you want. To display your Amazon Wish List in your mEgo, simply enter the email address you use to log in to Amazon. Whenever you update your list on Amazon, your Wish List feed on mEgo will update, too.

Tip: if you have multiple Wish Lists, select the one you want to view from the drop-down list that appears at the top of the subpod.

Last.fm Play Lists

Last.fm is a free music service that lets you find and play music you like. After you've signed in and listened for a bit, you can display your play lists, which will link to the songs you listened to on Last.fm. Or you can listen to other Last.fm user's charts. All you need to do is enter the desired username in the field below.

Netflix

mEgo makes it easy to view-and share-info from your Netflix account. All you have to do is locate your Netflix feed ID, as described below, and paste it in on the Feeds page or in Netflix field on the Content > Visuals page.

Once you enter your custom feed info, your Netflix feeds will be available in your mEgo unless you change this info or delete the Netflix cookie. Typically, cookies do not get deleted unless you choose to manually delete them, use a tool in your browser to delete them, or have some sort of overzealous virus or spyware protection software that deletes them automatically.

To add/change your Netflix custom feed info:

To sign up for a Netflix account, click on the Netflix logo that appears next to the fill-in field.

Del.icio.us Bookmarks

Del.icio.us lets you tag and store your bookmarks online. To share your favorites using del.icio.us, enter the username that you log in to del.icio.us with. Remember to Save your changes.

Tip: to limit the bookmarks you display by tag, type the tag name after your username, i.e., http://del.icio.us/[username]/[tag].

To get your own free account, click on the del.icio.us logo that appears next to the fill-in field.

Personal RSS Feeds

RSS is usually defined as Really Simple Syndication. Whenever the site you are getting a feed from is updated, the new content appears in the corresponding pod on your mEgo, which is indicated by the little body icon to the left of each field, below.

To get a usable RSS address:

TIP: You can click on your mEgo to preview your feed(s) in the corresponding pod(s). The fields that appear on the Feeds page will also display-and can be edited-on the corresponding Content pages.
