Vicki Saunders
An innovative social entrepreneur, Ms. Saunders has launched a variety of successful youth-oriented initiatives. In 1997 she pioneered a program called KidsNRG, which evolved into the NRG Group, an internet incubator and youth marketing consultancy. Ms. Saunders was NRG's co-CEO in 2000, when it became a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The following year, she was named one of the 100 Global Leaders for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum. In 2002, Ms. Saunders co-founded Impactanation, an organization dedicated to increasing awareness and inspiring entrepreneurial action in young people around the themes of environment, health and social justice. Ms. Saunders received an M.A. in comparative foreign policy from the University of Toronto, Canada.
Dawna Markova
Child psychologist Dr. Markova is internationally known for her work in learning and communication. In forty years in research and practice she developed and refined the model of Mind Patterns, the key to the differences in how people think and learn. A former Senior Affiliate of the Organizational Learning Center at MIT, Dr. Markova is now a consultant member of the Society for Organizational Learning and a board member of the Visions of a Better World Foundation. She has established learning communities across the country, founded the Institute of Human Ecology and served as a faculty member at the Union Institute, and Lesley and Antioch graduate schools.
Dr. Markova is the author of The Smart Parenting Revolution, The Open Mind book and audio series, I Will Not Die An Unlived Life, No Enemies Within, How Your Child IS Smart, Learning Unlimited, and she co-edited the Random Acts of Kindness series.
